MedBridge Expands Integrations with Casamba to Improve Clinical Efficiency for Long Term Care Organizations
Integration between MedBridge’s best-in-class HEP and Casamba Skilled expected to save clinicians in Skilled Nursing Facilities and Contract Therapy organizations an average of five minutes of documentation per patient.
Seattle, WA—MedBridge, the industry-leading continuing education and patient engagement solution for healthcare professionals, announced today its latest product integration with Casamba, a leading provider of electronic medical record (EMR) solutions for outpatient therapy, home health agencies, skilled nursing facilities (SNF), and contract therapy providers. Skilled Nursing Facilities and Contract Therapy organizations using Casamba Skilled will now be able to access MedBridge’s comprehensive patient engagement solution, including their HEP builder, video-based patient education, adherence tracking, and patient communication tools, directly from their EMR. This integration comes after MedBridge’s previous integration with Casamba’s EMR solution for private practice, Casamba Clinic.
For Long Term Care providers, better provider efficiency translates into more face time with patients and less time switching between platforms. MedBridge clients using EMR integrations save on average five minutes of documentation time per patient, translating into a savings of over $4,500 per clinician per year.
“Through this integration with MedBridge, our customers are not only able to increase their efficiency, they also gain a host of effective tools for improving patient adherence and deepening the relationship between provider and patient,” said Luis Montes, Senior Vice President of Strategic Partnerships for Casamba. “This is an important milestone for both of our organizations in our continued efforts to empower healthcare providers with the resources they need to deliver the highest level of patient care.”
Healthcare professionals working in Skilled Nursing Facilities and Contract Therapy organizations can quickly and easily create, assign, and document exercise programs from their EMR, without interrupting their workflow. The user-friendly documentation feature allows organizations to quickly collect and securely record accurate patient information, saving time and promoting efficiency in care coordination. In fact, MedBridge users already using an EMR integration assign 60% more Patient Education and Home Exercise Programs, increasing the likelihood of better outcomes.
“The Long Term Care industry is currently undergoing a tremendous shift toward value based care brought about by the new Patient Driven Payments Model set to take effect in just a few months,” said Justin Kowalchuk, MedBridge founder and CEO. “For healthcare professionals working in these settings, interoperability between their EMR and patient engagement solution will be key to achieving the patient outcomes and operational efficiency that PDPM requires.”
MedBridge’s integration with Casamba Skilled adds to MedBridge’s ever-growing suite of solutions aimed at improving clinical outcomes, increasing patient satisfaction, and improving provider efficiency across the continuum of care. Soon, the organization will be rolling out integrations with best-in-class outcomes-reporting providers to help healthcare organizations effectively close the system loop between clinical education, patient engagement, and administrative oversight. These insights will enable clients to approach care improvements via a data-driven approach within their EMR and position MedBridge as an essential partner to healthcare organizations.
