American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) Adds MedBridge to Its Member Value Program
APTA members will have expanded access to industry-leading online continuing education at a significant discount
SEATTLE, July 2, 2019 – MedBridge, a leading provider of healthcare education solutions, is teaming up with the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) to empower clinicians through discounted access to best-in-class continuing education. This collaboration positions APTA members to develop their skills and engage their patients as effectively as possible, furthering the organizations’ shared mission of improving lives.
With MedBridge as a core educational provider, APTA expands the breadth of high-quality resources it provides to its network of physical therapists, physical therapist assistants and students. APTA members will now receive a discount on their subscription to MedBridge, which includes access to over 1,000 video courses and live webinars. This evidence-based content, presented by top instructors such as APTA Fellows Chad Cook, PT, Ph.D., FAPTA; Susan Effgen, PT, Ph.D., FAPTA; and Susan Whitney, PT, Ph.D., FAPTA, covers a wide range of APTA specialties, including geriatrics, pediatrics, orthopaedics, neurology and sports. MedBridge also offers Certification Prep Programs to assist physical therapists pursuing specialist certification from the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties in the areas of geriatrics, neurology, orthopaedics, pediatrics and sports.
In addition to continuing education, APTA members can use MedBridge to create Home Exercise Programs and assign Patient Education, all within the same platform. Healthcare professionals who have used these tools report improved patient engagement, adherence and outcomes, with 90 percent of users reporting that MedBridge’s HEP builder helped them improve their patient outcomes and 98 percent of patients surveyed reporting satisfaction with the MedBridge Home Exercise Program.
“MedBridge has its roots in the physical therapy community and has always been inspired by the knowledge and passion of these professionals,” says MedBridge Chief Content Officer Andrew Mickus. “Through this opportunity, we’re excited to be able to support APTA’s member clinicians and organizations in even more robust ways.”
APTA CEO Justin Moore, PT, DPT, says, “MedBridge provides high-quality continuing education content in a compelling and user-friendly format, and we’re excited to make that more accessible to our members. This offering increases the value of APTA membership and supports our members in their ongoing commitment to provide the best possible care.”
Both APTA and MedBridge anticipate future collaborative efforts as well as the positive outcomes for APTA members and their patients this relationship will provide.
