The ASHA DEI Requirement: What It Is and How to Meet It

Fulfill the ASHA DEI requirement with MedBridge.

On January 1, 2023, the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) implemented a diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) certification maintenance requirement that applies to those who hold ASHA certificates for the January 1, 2023–December 31, 2025 maintenance interval.

To maintain their ASHA certification, SLPs must now complete at least two professional development hours (PDHs) in cultural competency, cultural humility, culturally responsive practice, or diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI).

As part of our commitment to helping SLPs advance their careers and patient care, MedBridge offers a number of courses that will allow you to meet the ASHA DEI requirement.

How to Fulfill the DEI Requirement with MedBridge

Our extensive catalog of courses for SLPs includes courses that have been registered with ASHA under the specialty code 7030, which corresponds with the DEI requirement. You can view these specialty code courses in our ASHA Special Subject Codes Help Center article along with their corresponding CEU information. To help you choose the courses that are best for you, we’ve also provided a convenient breakdown below of our DEI courses.
