Are you prepared to drive your career forwards in the ever-changing health care environment? Many times, we don’t recognize the value of developing leadership skills in our professional development as health care professionals. Yet, every day we work with different groups of people to achieve numerous goals collectively. Plus, change and innovation – realities we face now – require leadership! Developing an effective leadership style is important, even if you are not a formal leader! Growing personal leadership skills will help you become more effective every day in practice and will prepare you for your next career move or professional responsibility. Leadership “styles” vary from person to person, and some leadership styles are more effective than others. What kind of leader are you? Do you know your preferred leadership style? In this program, you will discover how you tend to lead and will be provided with some ideas on how to build your own leadership capacity. Emphasis is placed on developing an effective personal leadership style as well as understanding how you can lead as a member of a group. Additionally, you’ll be exposed to new ways of thinking, and new approaches to innovation and change that you can apply to many professional situations in physical therapy practice. Participants will be encouraged to engage interactively throughout the program.
