This module will expose the learner to the various types of cups used, the pros and cons of each type of material, and their effects.
2. Variations in the Implementation of Cup Therapy vs. Traditional Cupping
This section will review the mechanical properties of negative pressure in western physiology terms and its effects. Specific pressures and treatment time parameters will be reviewed, as well as dosage and frequency.
3. Current Literature, Precautions, and Contraindications
This section will review precautions, contraindications, and technique pearls. The learner will be introduced to the pairing motion with cups and the rationale for moving the body versus moving the cup. Further material includes when to add load, when to remove the cup, and what to do next.
