Femoroacetabular impingement syndrome (FAIS) is an intriguing and somewhat challenging diagnosis for the healthcare practitioner. While still fairly new to the scene in terms of diagnoses, new evidence surrounding the epidemiology, structural adaptations, and diagnosis of FAIS is constantly evolving as more research comes to fruition. This webinar will highlight the latest evidence with regard to epidemiology, who is at risk, structural adaptations secondary to load, and clinical diagnosis of femoroacetabular impingement syndrome.

Learning Objectives
  • Identify the components necessary to diagnose FAI syndrome according to new definitions
  • Recognize epidemiology and the development of structural adaptations in patients with FAI syndrome
  • Recognize risk factors associated with the development of FAI syndrome
  • Highlight the pathomechanics underlying FAI syndrome
  • Identify the best clinical findings consistent with a diagnosis of FAIS

Chapters & learning objectives

Background and Risk Factors Related to FAIS

1. Background and Risk Factors Related to FAIS

This chapter will present background, prevalence rates, risk factors, and a review of current terminology related to diagnosis of FAIS. Structural adaptations occurring within the joint will also be reviewed.

Clinical Findings and Diagnosis

2. Clinical Findings and Diagnosis

This chapter will review risk factors leading to the development of FAIS mostly centered on joint load and structural adaptations that occur in response to these loads.

Question and Answer Session

3. Question and Answer Session

In this chapter, we'll review and answer the questions asked during the webinar.
