The second course in this four-part series on TheraBand® Kinesiology Tape reviews basic kinesiology tape applications of the upper quarter. Dr. Page begins by discussing the different kinesiology tape cuts and patterns including the I-Cut, Y-Cut, X-Cut, and the Fan Cut. This course presents demonstrations showing applications across the neck, shoulder, upper back, elbow, wrist and hand. Best practices for taping common upper quarter presentations such as poor posture, muscle imbalance, muscle tightness, and swelling are presented.

Dr. Page presents the information with the best available evidence, and by combining this knowledge with clinical experience and patient presentation, clinicians will make better clinical decisions when using kinesiology tape.

In the first chapter of this course, participants will learn to identify the different types of kinesiology tape cuts and patterns, as well as clinical conditions that may benefit from kinesiology taping based on the literature.

Neck

2. Neck

Dr. Phil Page identifies key anatomical landmarks in the neck and demonstrates proper application of kinesiology tape for muscle support in the neck. Participants will also be taught how to properly apply kinesiology tape for joint support in the neck.

Shoulder/Upper Back

3. Shoulder/Upper Back

In Chapter 3, Dr. Phil Page identifies key anatomical landmarks in the shoulder and upper back. He demonstrates how to properly apply kinesiology tape for muscle and joint support in the shoulder and upper back.
