Vision is much more than meets the eye. It is a complex, multifaceted neurological process that begins with visual input traveling from the eyes to the central nervous system and integrating in the cerebellum. The cerebellum plays an especially important role in this process as it is the Grand Central train station where sensory signals from visual, vestibular, proprioceptive, and auditory input communicate with each other. In this webinar, clinicians will learn to both identify and treat visual processing challenges in children with sensory processing disorder. A case study will be thoroughly examined to demonstrate a progressive plan of care, starting with initial symptoms, assessment methods utilized, intervention techniques that address visual integration, and outcomes resulting in successful participation in childhood occupations. This webinar is applicable for OTs, COTAs, PTs, and PTAs working in pediatric outpatient hospitals, clinics, early intervention, and school-based settings.
