BPPV is a common condition in adults and is typically amenable to treatment. This webinar will focus on advanced BPPV concepts. We will review complications of canalith repositioning maneuvers, including canal conversions, and demonstrate treatment alternatives for refractory posterior canal BPPV. We will also take a close look at identification and treatment of atypical BPPV variants, discuss formulation of optimal sequencing of maneuvers for multicanal BPPV, and examine the concept of “canal jam,” along with treatment suggestions.
It is strongly recommended that the learner be knowledgeable in the fundamentals of BPPV prior to completing this advanced-level webinar. This webinar is appropriate for audiologists, physicians, and physical and occupational therapists with experience in the management of vestibular disorders.

Chapters & learning objectives
1. BPPV: Intractable Posterior Canal Canalithiasis
In this chapter, we will discuss anatomic considerations that may limit the effectiveness of treatment. We will also review alternative treatment strategies.
2. Anterior Canal BPPV and Mimics
In this chapter, we will discuss identification and management of anterior canal BPPV and review potential “mimics.”
3. Ageotropic-Variant Horizontal Canal BPPV, Canalithiasis
In this chapter, we will discuss diagnostic features of the ageotropic variant of horizontal canal BPPV, canalithiasis type, as well as review suggested canalith repositioning maneuvers to address the condition.
4. Canalith Jam
In this chapter, we will define canalith jam and review examination findings suggestive of it. We will also discuss treatment considerations to address canalith jam.
5. BPPV “Conversions”
In this chapter, we will identify scenarios where conversions are common as well as review treatment considerations when encountering canal conversion.
6. Multicanal BPPV
In this chapter, we will discuss common multicanal presentations with BPPV and review suggested treatment sequencing for multicanal BPPV.
7. Question and Answer Session
This is a viewer submitted question and answer session, which will be facilitated by Jeff Walter.
