Chapters & learning objectives
1. Angina
In chapter one, Barbara Gladson will define Angina, Mechanism of action of Nitroglycerin, and the administration of sublingual Nitro to reduce Angina.
2. Clot Prevention and Treatment
Chapter two will discuss the role of platelet aggregator inhibitors, anticoagulants, and thrombolytics in coronary heart disease and their implications for therapeutic interventions. Barbara Gladson will cover the controversial role of aspirin in preventing cardiac events and explain the dosing regimen for a patient who takes NSAIDs for arthritis and low-dose aspirin for cardio protection.
3. Lipid Control
Barbara Gladson will explain the role of statins in reducing high cholesterol and assess patient response to determine statin related problems in this chapter. She will also list agents used to improve organ perfusion in Congestive Heart Disease and
