1. Defining Business Literacy
This chapter will discuss the need for integrating business literacy into health care/physical therapist practice. The chapter will define business literacy and isolate business knowledge and skills needed to advance contemporary clinical practice. Participants will have an opportunity to self-assess their level of business literacy in physical therapist practice.
2. Fundamentals of Operations Management
This chapter will explore the fundamentals of operations management, human resource management and explain the need to develop leadership skills and practices.
3. Fundamentals of Financial Management
This chapter will explore the fundamentals of financial management and identify the role of information management in practice management.
4. How to Deliver Value
This chapter will discuss how to deliver value in physical therapy practice and explore fundamentals of promoting and marketing the physical therapy practice.
5. Fundamentals of Strategic Planning
This chapter will explore the fundamentals of strategic planning & business planning and its importance in the physical therapy practice.
6. Action Planning
This final chapter will help participants identify ways to build their business literacy and incorporate business literacy into their clinical practice.
