Florida has one of the highest rates of HIV infection in the country, and the state has a plan to reduce HIV transmission that includes training staff on prevention efforts.
In this course, we’ll discuss ways that HIV spreads and what healthcare workers can do to stop transmission. We’ll review treatment for patients with positive HIV results and Florida and federal requirements in the areas of testing, reporting, and partner notification.
This course meets training requirements for staff in Florida healthcare organizations, including those that provide home health and hospice care, skilled nursing facilities, and assisted living facilities, in line with Fla. Stat. § 381.0035.
MedBridge also has a course, HIV and AIDS: Information for Florida State Clinicians, that meets Fla. Stat. § 381.0034.
Estimated Runtime: 10 minutes
