This course will provide clinicians an understanding of advanced techniques such as sharp debridement and multiple application techniques of negative pressure wound therapy. This course will also demonstrate the importance of rehabilitation in the wound care multidisciplinary team.

This chapter will briefly review the different types of debridement but mainly focuses on the indications, contraindications, advantages, and disadvantages of sharp debridement. Multiple videos showing the application of sharp debridement (cross hatching, callus shaving, and other techniques) will also be incorporated and reviewed.
