Amber Richardson

Amber Richardson currently serves as a community relations manager for Pate Neuro Rehabilitation. She received her Master of Occupational Therapy and Bachelor of Science in Health Studies degrees from Texas Woman’s University. She is a Certified Health Education Specialist, Ostomy Management Specialist, and serves on the Dallas Fort Worth Hospital Council Foundation Health Literacy Collaborative Committee.

Her clinical practice experience spans the range from acute care to home and community. Her experience opening a de novo ostomy program in acute care gave her access to greater clarity and awareness of health literacy needs in patients, caregivers, and during interdisciplinary collaboration. Her passions around occupational participation, equity, and creating opportunity and access to wellness through usable health education continue to inform and inspire her efforts.
