Doris Mosocco

Doris Mosocco is currently a senior manager of quality for Virginia Premier, Inc., a managed care organization, where she supports the quality, accreditation, and regulatory compliance teams of the company. Before this role, Mosocco was regulatory manager for Sentara Enterprise Home Care Division, where she was responsible for survey preparedness and ongoing internal audits to ensure compliance with all applicable state and federal regulatory accreditation standards and oversaw the development and maintenance of clinical policy and procedures, as well as supervising the mock audit team for the division. Mosocco also worked for HCR Manor Care as a clinical services consultant for the central division and was responsible for assisting in the planning, training, organizing, and implementing of quality nursing management and care delivery. Prior positions also include working with Riverside PACE (Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly), a type of managed care health plan for the frail/elderly population, serving in several capacities to include director of quality and compliance, executive director of the program, site director, and quality manager.
Professional accomplishments: Mosocco has presented at local, state, and national seminars for both home care and PACE, authored various articles for leading industry magazines to include Home Health Nurse and news lines. She was one of the initial home care executives in Virginia to become certified as CHCE; obtained her certification as an OASIS Specialist-Clinical (COS-C), a home care coding specialist in diagnosis; and holds nursing licenses in Virginia, Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Indiana. Mosocco has also received her certification as a Six Sigma Green Belt.
Charity: Mosocco served on the board of directors of Peninsula Agency on Aging in Newport News, Virginia, for several years.
Mosocco has spent the majority of her professional career in quality management, senior leadership, and program and staff development in the long-term care industry. She received her associate degree in nursing from Thomas Nelson Community College, her bachelor of science degree in nursing from Virginia Commonwealth University–MCV, and her master’s degree in health administration from the University of Phoenix.
Personal note: On a personal level, I have a terrific husband; we share three grown daughters and take great pride in our eight grandchildren ranging in age from 2 to 13 years old. We both have been bitten by the travel bug and, in our spare time, enjoy traveling and making memories.
