Elizabeth Nixon
PT, DPT
Elizabeth Nixon is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill DPT program. Clinically, she is a board-certified clinical specialist in both neurologic physical therapy and geriatric physical therapy, specializing in movement disorders, concussion, and aquatics. She currently works within the Duke University Health System overseeing clinical operations for rehabilitation services for several ambulatory clinics. This includes physical therapy and occupational therapy services for 11 interdisciplinary clinics including Parkinson’s disease, ALS, non-sport-related concussion, Huntington’s disease, and more. Elizabeth is invested in residency and fellowship education, after completing the Duke Health Neurologic Physical Therapy Residency Program as the first resident, and currently serves as co-coordinator of the program. She has also served on several roles within the APTA Academy of Neurologic Physical Therapy, previously on the Degenerative Diseases Special Interest Group Nominating Committee, and currently she is a member of the nominating committee for the Resident and Fellowship Special Interest Group. More locally, she has served on the board of directors for APTA North Carolina, where she currently serves as the chief delegate to the APTA House of Delegates.
