BHSc, OTR/L, SI
Kelly Beins is a seasoned occupational therapist with more than 28 years of clinical experience, including 18 years with certification in sensory integration. Passionate about combining sensory integration and mental health, Kelly believes in evidence-informed interventions and truly understanding the relationship between mechanisms of change that occur during use of an integrative therapeutic approach.
Specializing in sensory processing and applications of polyvagal theory in OT, Kelly is sought after as an international speaker, has published two children’s books, and was named Autism Parenting Magazine’s Top OT for two consecutive years.
Kelly’s expertise is derived from developing and launching child and adolescent services within a community mental health setting and supervising OT services at The Jefferson School and Residential Treatment Center, as well as working in a variety of OT settings across the continuum of care, where she consulted, directed, provided program design, and offered direct services.
After 16 years of serving others’ visions, Kelly founded her own multitherapist private clinic, which she directed for just under a decade. Under Kelly’s direction, her team supported children with a broad range of developmental, mental health, and behavioral challenges using an intensive model. In partnership with the families, they proudly offered practical and advanced solutions across the life span. At present, in addition to building a global mentorship program that makes best practices more accessible for other private practice OTs, Kelly now serves Unyte as their clinical practice manager, where she is responsible for ensuring that clinical rigor and best practices are fostered among providers.
