PT, DPT, PCS

In clinical practice, within her expertise in pediatric rehabilitation, she cares for a diverse patient caseload that includes diagnoses such as neurologic and orthopedic trauma, neuro-oncology, pediatric obesity, pelvic health disorders, developmental gross motor delay, and conditions requiring complex serial casting and splinting. Rubi is a board-certified pediatric clinical specialist in physical therapy and a member of the Pediatric and Research Sections of the American Physical Therapy Association. She is also currently serving on the executive board of the California Pediatric Physical Therapy Special Interest Group. Her research interests include investigating the effects of obesity in typically developing and oncologic pediatric cohorts, gross motor performance and pelvic floor dysfunction, and the effect of health and wellness education on the pediatric population.

Along with her roles at CHLA, in private practice, and at USC, Rubi is currently part of the executive board for Red Star Riders—a nonprofit volunteer organization with a focus on identification and fundraising to provide AmTryke therapeutic tricycles for children who need them to progress their gross motor development and physical health.
