Stephanie Dodson Mataya

Stephanie Dodson Mataya serves as the Education, Quality, and Administration Coordinator in the Rehab Division for BayCare Health Systems. She obtained her bachelor's degree from the University of Illinois and her master's degree from Illinois State University. With 37 years of experience as a speech-language pathologist, Stephanie has worked across various settings, including acute care, acute rehabilitation, outpatient, and skilled nursing facilities. She is a board-certified specialist in swallowing and swallowing disorders, focusing her clinical career on dysphagia management, particularly in diagnostics using Flexible Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing and Videofluoroscopic Swallow Studies.

Transitioning into an administrative role, she leads program development, performance improvement projects, and education initiatives. Stephanie's speaking engagements include Premier Breakthrough Conference, ECRI, Florida Association of HealthCare and Quality, ASHA, and a Hands-on National FEES course. She is dedicated to advancing education for clinicians and patients and utilizes her extensive healthcare experience to drive meaningful change.
