This course outlines recommended outcome measures for physical therapists working with individuals with neurologic conditions, including the core set of six measures identified to prevent unwarranted variability in physical therapy practice that are strongly supported by evidence. Clinical scenarios are given that demonstrate use of the core set and also when the core set does not provide the most clinically relevant tools and use of other measures is necessary. Contemporary neurologic physical therapy practice includes the use of outcome measures to set objective goals and measure functional changes in our patients.
