This course provides an update on the current evidence for therapeutic management of extensor tendon injuries and conditions in zones V and VI. Included is a review of the anatomy, as well as conservative and postoperative treatment interventions. Demonstrations of specific orthoses will be included. This course is designed for the intermediate occupational therapist, physical therapist, physical therapy assistant, and certified occupational therapy assistant with experience in hand conditions.

Provides a course overview of extensor tendon rehabilitation for zones V and VI, including the purpose and the learning objectives.
2. Anatomy, Incidence, and Therapeutic Management
This chapter presents the anatomy and incidence for extensor tendon rehabilitation for zones V and VI.
3. Postoperative Management
Includes a presentation and comparison of static, dynamic, and ICAM –relative motion protocols. A demonstration of the relative motion yoke orthosis will be included. In addition, utilizing the yoke orthosis for sagittal band injuries will be discussed.
4. Summary and Conclusions
This chapter will conclude the course with an overall summary and conclusion.
