Awareness of the payment implications of clinical decision making is not the same as being driven by them. PDGM altered the parameters for a LUPA that has heightened awareness around the quantity of visits being recommended and provided for each patient. This portion provides a framework for ensuring patients are receiving the appropriate number of visits—not too many or too few.
