Rachel Kilgore
DPT, OCS, COMT, PRPC, PPCES
Rachel’s primary specialty is pelvic rehabilitation. This includes incontinence, prolapse, constipation, pelvic pain, and peripartum issues such as cesarean birth or diastasis rectus abdominis. She enjoys treating general orthopedics, with interest in the back, neck, knee, and shoulders. Additionally, playing collegiate soccer inspired her desire to focus on sports rehabilitation. Currently, she unites these specialties with treatment of peripartum athletes.
After giving birth to her first child, Rachel became especially passionate about sharing her knowledge and easing the path for those who are pregnant or in their postpartum period. She has worked with birthing people during and after pregnancy and with all pelvic health issues. Rachel works with patients of all genders and ages and, with an extensive background in collegiate athletics, also loves to help return people to their favorite activities, be they playing with their children, running, lifting, or hitting the slopes. Rachel loves to empower her patients with education and see them reach their goals so they can return to the activities that they enjoy. It is always her goal that her patients understand their conditions, enhance their movement patterns, prevent reinjury, and control their symptoms independently.
A Washington native, Rachel graduated from Central Washington University in 2004, where she received a Bachelor of Science degree with a minor in nutrition. She received her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Washington (Go Dawgs!) in 2007. Rachel has primarily worked in the realm of orthopedics, and in 2015, she passed the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties (ABPTS) Orthopedic Certified Specialist (OCS) exam. She is also certified with the Ola Grimsby Institute as a manual therapist (COMT). She has continued following her passions and earned a Pelvic Rehabilitation Practitioner (PRPC) certification and Pregnancy and Postpartum Corrective Exercise Specialist (PPCES) certification. She loves to share her experience and knowledge with other professionals. She is a faculty instructor for Herman & Wallace Pelvic Rehabilitation Institute, teaching the peripartum series, and has been a regular consultant for MedBridge since 2014. Rachel also enjoys giving regular community lectures to peripartum fitness groups, at gyms, and to other clinicians in the community.
