Jaimie Anderson

MS, CCC-SLP, BC-ANCDS

Jaimie Anderson is a medical speech-language pathologist (SLP) and is board certified by the Academy of Neurogenic Communication Disorders (BC-ANCDS). She currently evaluates and treats complex multiphase swallowing, voice, upper airway, and motor speech disorders as part of a multidisciplinary team at the University of South Florida Joy McCann Culverhouse Center for Swallowing Disorders in Tampa, Florida. She is also an adjunct clinical instructor for the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at USF.

Jaimie has 10 years of experience across medical settings. She earned a bachelor of science in 2011 and master of science in 2013 in communication science and disorders at Florida State University. She completed her clinical fellowship year and worked 6 years at University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. She specialized in the functional rehabilitation of speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing disorders in oncology patients, specifically those with brain tumors. She was an integral team member for the intraoperative language mapping program for patients undergoing awake craniotomy with neurosurgery and neuropsychology. In 2019, she returned to Florida, where she worked with patients with a variety of medical conditions in acute and outpatient settings at Cleveland Clinic Florida and Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood, Florida.

Jaimie is the first author on two book chapters outlining rehabilitation of speech and swallowing in patients with skull-based tumors. She is certified in Lee Silverman Voice Treatment (LSVT), the McNeill Dysphagia Therapy Program (MDTP), and the Modified Barium Swallow Impairment Profile (MBSImP). She has been an invited speaker at several regional and national conferences. She serves on the professional development committee with ASHA’s Special Interest Group 2, Neurogenic Communication Disorders; the Board Certification Committee for the ANCDS; and the Website, Communications, and Public Relations Committee for the Dysphagia Research Society.
