Efficient and effective communication with the patient, family, caregivers, and care team is paramount in safe patient care. Aides play a very important role in the care of patients and need to understand and apply therapeutic communication techniques to be effective communicators and build trust with patients and all those involved in patient care. This course will review therapeutic communication concepts, such as the cycle of communication, the components of communication, and the benefits of good communication. This course will also provide examples of proper therapeutic communication.
